Dubrovnik Mosquitos - October

I am off to Dubrovnik and Lopud next week - will there still be mossies at this time of year?

I hate to disagree with Dubrovnik Travel Lady but I am sure half of Croatias mosquite population is here in Orebic.LOL, three bites before breakfast today!

Seems rather agressive the new sort, called tiger mosquito (tigrasti komarac), lavender oil can help and net on the windows as well, I get a bite now and then , nothing terrible.

Is it common to have mosquitos this late in the year? They are all frozen in Minnesota at this time!

Sure do wish they were frozen here, but we%26#39;re having some lovely fall weather at this time. Netting on the windows was not enough, I had a friend make me a real screen door for my bedroom and it has saved me from being bitten while I sleep. Never did get the screen made for the parlor much to my regret.

Only 32 more days and I am off to California to spend the Christmas holidays with my sister and niece. First time back in the states in two years, it%26#39;s going to be a cultural change again. And we have screens in California, thank goodness.

It is still very warm, anyway seems that is the right weather for them.

We have just returned from lapad yesterday and we got bitten a lot whikst we were away, I never get bitten but I did this time and im itching like mad, mu other half got biten worse and has over 30 bites on him. Take precaution

im still itching from these bites, any advices on treatment, Ive got the normal from boots etc and Ive even tried rubbing a banana skin on it (tip I found on the internet)

I stayed on Lopud from 26.9 -10.10, and YES there was still Mosquitos there. I always gets the bites, the rest of my family did%26#39;t get any.
