One week in May

We are considering a week in Split - Easyjet only fly Saturday - Saturday , so it has to be just the week - not enough holiday entitlement for two weeks !!

Advice, please .... should we base ourselves in Split and then visit other places ? or do a two centre - if so- where would be best for transport and to get back to Split airport ?

Thanks for any help.

I%26#39;m not sure where you live but if you fly from Gatwick with Easy, they fly every day except Tues/Wed.

I suggest you consider a two centre stay - a few days in Trogir (a beautiful UNESCO city 5 miles from the airport and an easy bus ride into Split) and a few days on one of the islands (e.g. Hvar Town on Hvar, Bol on Brac or Vis town or Komiza on Vis). If you are going at the beginning of May, things will be beginning to wake up - not all restaurants will be open, the sea will be considered too cold for swimming and water sports (by the Croats that is, its positively balmy for us Brits!) but it all gets more lively as the month progresses.

From Split you can always do a (longish) day trip to Dubrovnik or take a slow ferry down past Korcula, stay a night in Dubrovnik and take a bus back. There will be no shortage of things to do and see. You can also head north to the national parks.

Easyjet have flights to both Split and Dubrovnik from Gatwick (plus other airports in UK) a few times per week from the end of April to the end of October I am sure you can get a flight allowing for one week%26#39;s stay - suggest maybe if any difficultoes then fly to Split and return from Dubrovnik or vice-versa - I use easyjet to fly to and from UK a few times a year to visit relatives in UK and have done this many times

Have a good trip !

Thank you for your replies.

We are flying from Newcastle - and Easyjet just fly out on a Saturday -and only to Split .

Thanks for your suggestions .

Easyjet do not fly from Newcastle - I think you are talking about Jet2 airlines. Jet2 also fly out of Leeds Bradford on a Sunday - why not try looking into the days and nothern airport flights with these airlines

Flyglobespan - flybe - thompsonfly

Or should you wish to fly from Newcastle only you can get cheap flights if you book early with flybe from Newcastle to Gatwick then take easyjet flights to either Split or Dubrovnik - this way you could allow for more than one week but less than two weeks - I have travelled this way before Jet2 started flying to Newcastle

Good luck !

Thanks - my mistake - it%26#39;s Jet2 from Newcastle.

I will look at other flight options.

I agree that a two center vacation would be a great idea-- Trogir and one of the islands.
