I really don%26#39;t think you can go wrong on any of the islands you are considering. What types of things are you looking for on the islands? Peace and Quiet? Nightlife?
|||
We like beautiful scenery, charming towns, good food and wine!
Night life is not a priority.
This is an anniversary trip, so we%26#39;re looking for something special!
Thanks

In my opinion the best options would be Korcula and Vis, but I see nothing wrong with the other two either. Look at travel arrangements to see what will fit best in terms of ferry schedules, etc.

Although, like Barry mentioned, all of the islands are beautiful and offer great views and great food, I would still go with Vis island as one of the true pearls of the Adriatic. It has the most fascinating history of all the islands on our coats, very unique food and wine heritage (look up restaurant Pojoda!), great views (google for Stiniva) and it is just very, very charming!

Definately Vis.

For shopping and parties - not Vis.
For amazing scenery coupled with true Croatian culture, food %26amp; wine -- Vis, hands down!!
The best for us was all the little beaches and coves to explore. Truly beatiful %26amp; unspoilt. Best is to rent a scooter and explore the whole island.. 4-5nights is perfect.
The people are friendly and the culture rich.. feels like it has not yet been exploited so much by tourists.
The blue cave is also close to Vis, great experience!
One thing for us (on a backpacking budget) was how expensive all the restaurants were. We could almost only afford pizza %26amp; beer (when eating out).
Dont know if it was just us, but felt much more expensive than on the mainland.

Thanks everyone-
Vis is definitely for us. Even though we will have to go back to Split to get to Korcula I think we will do it. Brac and Hvar both sound nice,
but we like places a little off the beaten track.
We will still haven%26#39;t decided whether we will start in Trogir or Dubrovnik but Vis and Korcula will be our island visits- probably 3-4 nights each.
Hotel San Giorgro- Vis
Lesic Dimitri Palace-Korcula

Oh Yeah-
We%26#39;ve decided to not stay in Zagreb and to not go to Plitvice this trip.
We do plan on renting a car for side trips out of Dubrovnik.
Do you recommend taking a car to the islands?
|||
Dont know about Korcula, but we decided not to take a car to vis - rather rented a scooter.. part of the experience..
Re your comment about not doing Plitvice.... why?
We did almost the whole coast of croatia and our highlights were Plitvice, Dubrovnic and Vis.
Would really recommend Plitvice - its out of this world!
