My wife and I a planning to drive from Split to Dubrovnik at the end of September. When I google driving directions they show I must take the Ploce - Trpanj ferry to Trpanj. Is that the way to make this drive? I only see a few ferries per day when we will be going. Thanks for any help.

You do not have to and would not take a ferry to get from Split to Dubrovnik. Those are just bad directions. The route is simple from Split to Dubrovnik along the coastal road. Just follow the signs and you can%26#39;t get lost. It should take about 4.5 hours.

They probably do that so you won%26#39;t have to go through the small coastal corridor of Bosnia. But it is no problem to go through the border crossings and most likely you will just get waved through. If you are stopped they will just quickly check your passports.
