Has anyone here taken the Gate1 travel agency tour to Croatia and Slovenia? Any tips?
Here is the tour itinerary:
9 nights accommodations
2 nights Bristol, Opatija
1 night Atrium, Split
3 nights Hotel Petka, Dubrovnik
1 night Golden Tulip Holiday, Zagreb
2 nights Hotel Jelovica, Bled
Price is 1249$ including flight from NYC
Is this enough time to spend in each of these places? Or are we better off flying there and doing our own thing? Any advice appreciated!

Lots of places in nine days and therefore quite a bit of travel. If you wanted to visit all of those places then of course it would be better to take the tour so travel arrangements would be done for you. To me it just seems like you will be on a bus too much and not being able to enjoy the places you will be at...I do like the three nights in Dubrovnik though. Not sure you would be able to beat that price on your own though. Nine nights plus flight for $1249 seems very reasonable to me.

My wife and I are booked for the Oct. 8th tour which includes 2 nights Venice. We added an extra night in Venice and are flying in and out from their. You have to weigh the upside and downside of a tour and what matters to you. We have taken their Morocco 12 day in May and love these kind of tours. We find time and situations to break away from the groups. If you want total independence, and to do your own thing than a tour might not be your cup of tea. We feel you give up some stuff but find that certain tours to certain destinations satisfy our experience. We can%26#39;t wait to go. Good luck in your decisions.

I thought this tour offers amazing value for its price. My wife and I were seriously thinking about joining this tour until something else unexplected came up and we have to travel before October. So we planned our own trip instead.
The 9N trip covers a lot of distance. But the 2N, 3N 2N stay in Opatija, Dubrovnik and Bled should give you some breaks. You may want to book a side trip or tow from these places.
Below is a link to some reviews of packages offered by Gate 1. I think most of the Croatia reviews are favorable: epinions.com/reviews/166156211073-Gate_1_Tra…

The itinerary is acceptable in my opinion and good value for money. I think you might have to add taxes to your quote though, maybe 25%

Hello,
I am just wondering what you decided to do on this tour. My friend and I have signed up to go with Gate1 on October 8th. We are undecided about the tour options and wonder if it may be too much bus and travel. What are you doing? JoEllen

We are booked on this same tour for Oct.23 and are really looking forward to it. We don%26#39;t normally do the escorted tours but Like you, I thought the price was right. I don%26#39;t know how much time you have but what we did was we booked the %26quot;land only%26quot; part and then booked our flight into Venice and stay there on our own one night, then take a train to Trieste and a bus from there to Opatija to join the group. After the tour, we have another 12 days to go back to what we liked the most or see more of the two countries and then fly home out of Zagreb. This way we get the expertise of Gate1 and then time to leisurely enjoy Croatia. My opinion--book it!
