Korcula Town or Lumbarda

We have 4 nights, which area would be best, looking for an apartment, so don%26#39;t need restaurants every meal. Really want an open view and quiet. Will have car. Thanks in advance for your help.

Lumbarda would indeed be very quiet and very close to Korcula. I would pick Korcula Town though. An apartment with a view of the Old Town would be what I would want and Korcula in itself is not a noisy place.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I have appreciated all of the suggestions that you have provided on the forums. There are so many apartments available that I can%26#39;t seem to zero in on the better ones. I am a 4 star hotel person, but location, location, location! I really want a studio/1 bedroom on the beach/or rocks, that is very clean, with a nice terrace or balcony, not one of those that you can barely get 2 chairs on. I think you are right being able to walk to Korcula town would be great. I just don%26#39;t want to spend time when we get there, driving or walking around trying to find a place to suit us. Any suggestions? They would really be appreciated.

Thanks

Do you have any in mind that you can give websites for so I can take a look?

I have tried Royal apartment, Villa Depolo and Apartment Val (Lumbarda) and probably others that I just checked availabilty on Hostelbooker, and they don%26#39;t have availabilty on the days that we need, September 20,21,22,23. The House Pecotic has a triple available, which doesn%26#39;t probably have a double bed in it. The House Rakacevic looks pretty good, http://www.rakocevic.info/, but I haven%26#39;t contacted them yet. I just don%26#39;t know how to make this easier (maybe if we would have planned the trip farther ahead...) I just wanted this to be a special part of our visit to Croatia, a quiet place to sit watch the sea, maybe some city views, and a really clean fairly modern place to sleep and relax. I really don%26#39;t want to wait till we get there to try to find something. I have read and reread the TripAdvisor forums, and am lost. I have the rest of our trip planned, reserved and ready to go. Once again, I would appreciate any help that you could give me. I just keep looking...

Thanks

Ok I like the looks of the Rakocevic apartment and it is pretty near to the Old Town. The terrace is pretty big and there is a nice view of the Peljesac channel. I would say you should look more into that place. Maybe Korcula could help you also when she comes on here again. I have also stayed in the Gatti Apartments, but the terrace there is not very big but the views of Old Town are awesome.

Thank you for your time.

We%26#39;re staying in two of the three apartments in Villa Jade but are leaving on the 20th but I don%26#39;t know whether it will be free from then.

We haven%26#39;t been before but it%26#39;s right on the seafront in Medvinjak which I understand is a 20 minutes or so walk into town. It might be ok for you.

The owner lives in the UK and has a website/email and communication has been excellent.

Here%26#39;s Villa Jade on a different website which show it in a better light

Apologies but it%26#39;s me again! It would be easier if we could edit past posts.

The booking calendar on the site is showing no availability but if you%26#39;re interested I%26#39;d still try as it wasn%26#39;t right for a time when we booked.

Thanks for all of the info. We have decided to stay at Villa Sokol in Lumbarda. Lots of good reviews on other sites, it seems to have what we are looking for. We will have a car, so we felt we could go into Korcula Town easily. The places that I was interested in near the old town were already full. We didn%26#39;t plan very far ahead for this trip.
