Can anyone please help with the following questions:
What is the earliest time in the morning a boast trip leaves for Lokrum from the Old Harbour? And what is the latest time they return to Dubrovnik?
Are the any boat trips you can recommend that goes to all three Elafiti Islands from the Old Harbour? If so, what time in the morning do they depart and return? Do they stay at each of the Islands for a long(ish) time?
Mljet Island and National Park: What%26#39;s the best boat trip to get there and do they depart at Gruz or the Old Harbour or both?
How far is it to walk from the Old Town to Gruz harbour (ie. how long would it take?) And is there a large supermarket called Konzum in Gruz harbour?
Finally, where do the Airport buses depart from in Dubrovnik? How often do they run and how long does it take to get to the Airport?
Lots of questions, I know, but any help and advice would be most welcome. Thanks!

There were a lot of boats every half hour to Lokrum but I can%26#39;t remember what time they start. It only takes 10 minutes to get there.
All the tour operators for the Elaphiti island trips have little stalls by the Old Harbour. We went for the one that was 10 am to 6 pm rather than a 10.30 am one or 5.30 pm return as we got more time. One of the islands was a very brief visit but I can%26#39;t remember which. You get most time on Lopud because it has an amazing sandy beach.
Mljet - haven%26#39;t been but the regular boats/cat go there from Gruz.
It%26#39;s quite a walk from the Old Town to Gruz - a good 40 minutes. There is a very large supermarket in the harbour/bus station but I can%26#39;t remember what it is exactly. Konzum sounds about right.
Airport buses go from both the bus station in Gruz and outside the Old Town. The timetable is available in the bus station and it takes about 30-40 minutes. Atlas buses leave Dubrovnik%26#39;s bus station around 1 1/2 to 2 hours before flights for departing flights - but you must check the times.

Lokrum - the boats leave early morning about 9ish I think to Lokrom - its only ten minutes away and there are regular boats. It is a preserved island and lovely to spend the day there.
Also at the harbour in Dubrovnik in the old town, you can do the three island picnic cruise - leaves about 10 I think and comes back in the evening. Yu can also catch this boat in Cavtat. I think it is two short stops at two islands and one long stop - you get a fish picnic thrown in.
The walk from Gruz to the old town is lovely - it will take about 30 - 40 minutes but if you don%26#39;t want to walk than you can catch a regular bus into town. Get your ticket at a kiosk, it is cheaper than paying on the bus. there is a large supermarket in Gruz - to to the end of the harbour, then through the tour bus car park and the supermarket is there - it is called Konzum.
I have never taken an airport bus from Dubrovnik so I cannot help you there.

whales, would you recommend doing the tour of the 3 islands in one day or is it worth visiting each island separately? We will be there for 10 days, so time isn%26#39;t an issue for us.
|||
the three islands in one day is perfect for me anyway. But I alway want to get back to my base in Cavtat as it is my favourite part. Everywhere in the area is fantastic so Iwould suggest you do the one day trip and then maybe if you have a fave island then pick that out for next trip. There are thousands of islands to choose from so it is a hard decision - the whole place is paradise tho.

Thanks for all the help, everyone. It%26#39;s much appreciated!

Just back from Dubrovnik. We stayed in Gruz and attempted the walk to the old town only once (we got hideously lost and gave up!). The 1A and 1B from the sea front in Gruz drops you at the entrance to the old town and costs 80 Kuna (less than £1)if you buy a ticket from any of the the kiosks or 100 kuna if you pay the driver. You can also get a 24 hr ticket for 250 Kuna (although no one we asked seemed to stock them).
The buses are every 10 mins or so and take around 10 minutes. They are air conditioned and run until after 1am so it%26#39;s easy to have a night out in the old town and get home by bus. There can be a bit of a scrum to get on the bus but the drivers seem to take everyone so don%26#39;t worry if you get pushed out of the way as we did on occasions. You%26#39;ll get on!
|||
80 Kuna is certainly more than £1! Are you sure it wasn%26#39;t 8 Kuna? :)
|||
OOPS! Yes it was 8 Kunas or 10 from the driver and 25 for a day pass. I am still obviously confusing myself with the money! You%26#39;d think I%26#39;d have got used to it in the 5 days we were there!!

I want to go on a one day cruise of the Elaphiti islands. I leave tomorrow and don%26#39;t know whether to book online or at a stall at the port. It is €35 online. Does anyone know whether it is easy and cheaper to do it at the port?
|||
Do it at the port - it is getting towards late season and I can%26#39;t imagine all the boats are booked out. 35 Euro sounds quite high as well - get there and pay in kuna.
