looking at holiday to makarska for next year - booking flights and accomodation seperately - can anyone give me any advice on best way to transfer from airport to resort

There is a bus which runs from Trogir to Split which stops just outside the airport. It%26#39;s the No 37. This would take you into Split. You could then catch another bus to take you from Split into Makarska. The Makarska buses stop near the railway station by the road leading down to the ferries. Not sure how much ticket from airport to Split would be, not too much. The fare from Split to Makarska this last week cost 42 kuna which on current exchange rates would be around £6, by next year would probably go up a bit. Buses to Makarska are quite frequent. A taxi would be very expensive as the journey from the airport to Makarska takes approximately an hour and a half, far more than bus fare. Someone else has posed the same query as you on the forum so you could check the responses there, June 6th 2006.
The bus company is Promet. Here is a link to the website and timetables for the No 37
