Zadar in October

Hi,

My husband and I are visiting Zadar in early October for one week. We are staying with relatives who have recently moved out there. We Have only ever been on packege holidays to the Balearics and Canaries before so are very new to this type of holiday. Any ideas on what we could do, where we could visit, places to eat, drink and be merry at this time of year would be great! I%26#39;m keen to relax (maybe go to a spa) and my husband is keen on all things football and beer! Willing to take long distance day trips by public transport.

Thanks

I think you should look into taking a trip up to Plitvice Lakes from Zadar. It wouldn%26#39;t be too far of a day trip and I think it would be well worth it. You could also look at going down the coast to Trogir and up the Krka River to Krka Falls. Maybe even look into going all the way to Split to hang around there for a day.

Your husband is in good luck when it comes to beer because Croatia has some very very good beers. He will be able to enjoy some cold Karlovackos and Ozjuskos while he is there, don%26#39;t know much about the football scene in Zadar though.

Hi,

Just back from Zadar early july,it was just starting to get busy,if you are staying in Borik or Diklo just outside Zadar there are lots of good places to eat and drink, meals are huge and cheap compared to Spain . The beers are very good and around 15k for 1 lt bottle approx £2. There is a local sports club called the Spar just of the main road in Borik, Put Diklo with football on all the time also pool, darts, bowls, table tennis and cards the locals will make you very welcome.

Have a great time.

Zadar is a great place, visit the old city, take the Konati excursion, go to the islands (Preko), maybe one day to Krka NP and Plitvice.
