Deposits on B&B Dubrovnik Croatia

We were booking a room in Dubrovnik and the lady wants a deposit of 80 euro or 600 Kuna to reserve the room sent by Western Union. I did a price check on Western Union and 600 Kuna was $118 + $22 Western Union fee = $142. Is this typical? The room we are booking is 56 euro a night for 2 nights. This is a B%26amp;B. I am tempted to just drive into town and try to book a room. However, we are driving, so we will not be in an area near the train station where people are soliciting rooms.

Western Union is pricey so ask if you can wire money (considerably lower fees)

You can drive to town and try your luck at the Tourist Office or any travel agency you see on the way.

Try nice talk to the lady , ask her not to insist on deposit, because of high postage costs. I suppose that it is in low season and that she will accept.

If you don%26#39;t succeed , just go without booking.

Anyway, be honest and don%26#39;t do both.

Just one thing...you won%26#39;t find anyone soliciting rooms by the train station in Dubrovnik because there isn%26#39;t a train station in Dubrovnik.
