Vis - Hotel Paula now Hotel San Giorgio

Has anyone stayed at this hotel since change in ownership? I was so excited about our upcoming visit in September and I knew Hotel Paula was so highly rated and reviewed, so I was surprised to learn that it%26#39;s changed hands...would love to know if it%26#39;s still top notch.

I have reservations there for Sept based on Paula as well. i did not see that many options so I%26#39;m keeping my fingers crossed.

i was there last sept and loved it , although, when the heat wouldnt work, no one knew what was going on. The staff was great, but it seemed like there was a chip missing. we got blankets and were fine.

Nothing basically changed - they only changed the name of the company probably due to some technical reasons.

We%26#39;ve just stayed there and it was quite simply the best hotel we%26#39;ve ever stayed in. They refurbished when they changed the name and it is absolutely beautiful. Enjoy your stay!

We stayed at the San Giorgio last month (July %26#39;09)

It was one of the best hotels...ever. You will love the room decor, and the staff...well, what can I say?

They were like family. My husband had a medical emergency requiring a doctor. They had a doctor (plus his nurse!) there in 20 minutes. The kitchen even sent up special foods in the days following.

Can%26#39;t say enough good things.

We hired their driver (Damir) who took us all over the island in the Land Rover...abandoned forts, churches and missile launch sites.

check out the navigator travel agency and tell them that you know of alan of secret dalmatia. we used him for our trip, and mario and his sister rented us motor bikes, helped with the best food i have ever had...and really were a help the whole trip to vis...which is by far, one of the most special places on earth. google stivina beach...go there.

Since you are going to Vis, you have to go the restaurant Pojoda, right next to your hotel. Charming personal fish restaurant:) we have just arrived from Croatia, a beautiful holiday...

i think that the villa kaliopia, or something like that, on the way into town, was (i am a chef) one of the best meals ever, and we ate there all nights but one...
