Question for Zagreb expert

We will be arriving in Zagreb airport around lunch time and will be picking up a rental car and heading to Rovinj. Need suggestions of where to get lunch somewhere along the way. Will be spending a few days in Zagreb before heading home. Need some suggestions of where to eat. We want good Croatian food and prefer to eat where the locals would go, not the tourists. Thanks for your help.

Not sure any of these 2 qualify for „fancy“ category, but here you go:

Korčula - a tavern in Teslina St. I always eat baked octopus there plus a glass of homemade red wine.

Another one is Didov San (meaning Grandpa’s Dream) in the Upper Town area. What I like to eat there is salty cheese with little doughnut-pastry (uštipci) followed by frogs with prosciutto and end it with peka meal (potato, rosemary, veal, pork, chicken, all baked under an iron bell on a fireplace – it is traditional way to make it and is VERY tasty). If you’d like this peka meal, call the restaurant earlier that day to order it cause it takes several hours to bake it.

Both places are short walk from the main square, it takes some easy uphill to Didov San. Zagreb is not as touristy as our coastal places, so no worries you will end up surrounded by tourists only.
