I need some advice about a pending trip - myself and my partner are flying into Trieste in the second week of September, then traveling down to Novalja for a festival. At the end of this, we have 3 nights accommodation to find whilst making our way back up to Trieste for our departure.
I would like to know the cheapest, quickest way to travel from Trieste to Novalja, and then what we could do in the 3 days we have from leaving Novalja, to see some of the coast on the way back to Trieste.
Appreciate this is a big request - all feedback greatly appreciated!

If you arrive in Trieste after 12.30 you will not be able to reach Novalja that day as the bus you need leaves Trieste station at 13.30 to Rijeka, where you need to change for Novalja.
Have you booked your flights? If not you should fly to Pula as you can make the journey the same day from there. If you fly to Trieste, get a bus to Rijeka and stay the night.
On your way back, go to Plitvice and maybe Rovinj.

We have already booked flghts, as there was no other option available for the day we wanted to fly... our plane lands at 12.10, so I%26#39;m not sure if that will give us enough time to get through customs?
Is there no other way of getting to Novalja? Boat, or train, perhaps?
