Just got back...

We arrived home on Saturday from our first holiday in Hvar...and it certainly won%26#39;t be our last!

It was everything we wanted it to be, and then some.

The local bus transfer from Split airport to the harbour and the crossing to Hvar all worked like a dream...i had been quite concerned about whether we would find our way, but it turned out to be incredibly easy and good fun, too!

Return journeys went well also...unfortunately, as we didn%26#39;t want to come home :-(

Something i would like to ask seasoned September travellers to Hvar is whether it is normal for there to be a thunderstorm, rain and a couple of overcast days in the middle of gloriously sunny %26amp; hot days?

They lasted about 3-4 days and fell slap bang in the middle of our two week stay.

We still managed to find things to keep us entertained, though.

All in all a fantastic holiday...great local food and wines, gorgeous scenery, lovely people, ice cream and pastries to die for!!

Thanks for all the advice i got on here...what a wonderful gem we%26#39;ve all discovered ;-)

September weather can be moody everywhere in Croatia, so I guess that is the case with Hvar as well.

Thank you for the feed back, glad to read you enjoyed it here.

That kind of weather isn%26#39;t unknown - I know there were power cuts in Trogir as a result. But Hvar per year - isn%26#39;t there some claim about getting your money back if it rains a certain number of days in succession?

Used to be, if it snows and don%26#39;t remember how many days of continous rain that it was free in SunĨani Hvar hotels.

Mollie and Mandy, in spite of global climate changes, you had not have that much rain. There was a heavy night shower the whole night and several days with few hours of rain up to now in Sept/09.

Hope you will have better weather next time.

So pleased to hear that you had such a wonderful time in Hvar. As with most of the Dalmatian coast, some places are very special for each of us for many different reasons.

It has amazed me for many years now that Croatia has just been discovered. I%26#39;ve been visiting this lovely place since 1971 and it was more than just lovely since there weren%26#39;t as many other tourists.

Do remember that the Dalmatian coast has been one of Europe%26#39;s best kept secrets for many years.

Dobrodosli u Croatia
