Ferry from Trpanj to Ploce

To make my proposed itinerary work I need to take the car ferry from Trpanj to Ploce after visiting Korcula to avoid back-tracking all the way down the Peljesac peninsula.

I am travelling in mid-October. The only timetable I can find is from 2005 (this is on the korculainfo.com website). I have emailed the contact at korculainfo.com and korcula.net but have received no response.

This is not a Jadrolinija ferry route.

The ferry from Korcula to Drvenik does not run after the end of September so that is not an alternative.

Does anyone know anything about this ferry route?

I hope it will help.

Thank you Jelsa!

That is exactly what I have been searching for, and it means I will be able to see the Peljesac peninsula and visit Korcula on my way back up to Split.

Thanks again.

Hi Frogs,

I wonder if you can give me some tips - we have 4 nights at the end of our trip, ( 9 nights Vis, 7 nights Korkula )before we fly home from Split.

I%26#39;m thinking about taking the ferry from Trpanj to Ploce, to save some driving, and then driving up to Split. We intend to take pot-luck on accomodation - will we find rooms as we go, in August, and can you reccomend anywhere peaceful and beautiful between Ploce and Split - I%26#39;m looking at the area around Omis.

Thanks

The ferry was very convenient for me, and I had no problems with using that crossing. It definitely saves about 2 hours driving time. The only thing I would say is that if you plan to get the last ferry of the day (mine was around 4pm in off-season), it was very busy even in October. So allow enough time to make sure you are well up in the queue to get a place.

The drive up the coast from Ploce to Split is probably not much more than 2 hours. I stopped at Brela because it was getting dark and I didn%26#39;t want to be hunting for a room at night, or driving into Split. I stayed at a largish hotel because I was tired and just wanted things easy. It was clean, a huge dinner and breakfast were included, and the final cost on my barclaycard was for about £35. I don%26#39;t remember the name now, but I was the only English person there it seemed - everyone else was Sacndinavian or German on a package tour.

I drove through Omis the next day and it looked very nice. There are two coastal villages along the Adriatic highway which I had considered stopping in, both begin with a Z. But they all look most appealing when looking down from the highway - and the choice is yours! Everywhere there are signs for Sobe/Rooms so even in August you should be able to find a place for a night.

Have a great trip - I%26#39;m going back to Dubrovnik for the 3rd time in October. Do try to spend some time there. And I%26#39;ve heard Vis is glorious too.

I also wish to take the car ferry from Trpanj to Ploce in October, 2009, but the link that jelsa supplied didn%26#39;t have that info (at least I couldn%26#39;t find it). I found a schedule on another website, but it was only for summer and ended Sept.30. Does anyone know where I can find a winter ferry schedule for Trpanj to Ploce? thanks,

I don%26#39;t think the low season schedules are out yet. Keep checking Jadrolinija.hr to see if they have them yet.
