ploce for single women and steps or center??

I found a beautiful place to stay with great view in ploce but I read it literally has hundreds of stairs. Should I stay there and opt for view and stairs? Is it safe as a woman to walk after dark there? Or do I go for the center. This place is pension stankovich. Got rave reviews on tripadvisor, but said 300 stairs. Please advice!!

Dubrovnik is perfectly safe for women travelers and apartments in Ploce often have great views. I am not familiar with pension stankovich, but there are a lot of apartments in the area that do require 300 stairs. It%26#39;s hard to recommend one location over the other. The climb is quite strenuous, but may be worth it for the views. I think it depends on what you plan to do while in Dubrovnik. If you like to stop by your accommodation several times per day rather then spend the entire day out, then I would recommend staying in the Old Town. If you would rather leave in the morning and return late in the evening, then you would only have to climb the stairs once per day and Ploce might be your best option.

i actually loved the stairs. i am very active at home, and needed the exercise. we found it was well worth the stairs for the view we had. we ate every meal that we could from up there...

Your choice of apartments is lovely, however it is at the very top of the town. Rather than walk those steps every time, you can take the #8 bus and it will drop you nearer to the apartment. You will then only need to walk about 100 or so to reach that area. The view will be lovely and I can tell you that there are many apartments available with half those steps. You may want to keep looking.

Please don%26#39;t be concerned about walking alone at night, you will be safe. Only you can decide if you want to walk those steps, it does get old after a bit. I only have 176 steps to my home and I enjoy walking down but coming back up at night is dreadful.

On subject of steps. Our apartment for Oct is on AT MIMARE. Is this in a good area and how many steps do we have to walk up.

Is there a local shop near to get milk bread etc.

Mirmare is located in Lapad, you won%26#39;t have any steps and you are not near the old town. There are many shops and places to buy groceries in Lapad.

Looks like a nice location travelguru with an excellent view of Old Town. I don%26#39;t know how many steps for sure up there, but Old Town looks quite aways away so you will have many steps.

Sorry I thought the name of the apartment was Mimare, not Angelina. Nice location, at the very top of the Ploce area and yes there will be many steps. However if you take the number 8 bus you can get off and be about 1/2 up to the apartment. The view will be fantastic. Only you can decide if you want to walk those steps, it does get old after a few times. But then i must walk 176 to reach my home and it is good exercise.

Please do give out the entire name and address when asking about locations. There are many apartments named similar and some are even duplicated. Without the address we can%26#39;t be sure which one you may be renting. Hvala

We also opted for the stairs. The apratment we stayed is on Bruna Busica (BTW if you go all the way up to the top on this road there is a fantastic viewpoint) and we didn%26#39;t regret it a single bit. The view from the balcony is something to die for.
