Where to stay in Split?

Me and the missus are having a brief overnight stay in Split at the end of September. Can anyone recommend an apartment or hotel with car parking. We are only there for the one night so we need to be right in the centre. The hotels all seem a bit expensive (£250 ish). We are trying to do this holiday on a budget, so a apartment maybe????????????? Thanks for your help..........Our budget will stretch to £100(but hopefully less, there%26#39;s a recession on you know:)!)

In my opinion the most convenient would be to stay somewhere outside Split, depending of the direction you will be coming from, and visit Split , pay several hours of parking somewhere near the center. There are apartments all along the coast. You can just stop, without any parking problems, see, ask for the price, stay or proceed to the next house.You shouldn%26#39;t pay more than 50-60 EUR for the night in apt. or less if just room with bathroom..

We live in Split and when my sister came, we sent her to villamargarita Just off the Riva, you can park nearby (car rental places are 50 meters away). Spotless, reasonable, around 80E I think...but it is the location that makes it so great. They should be easy to find on line or I can go by and look up their phone so you can call.
