5 star Hilton, Excelsior or Argentina would be great and there is even Pucic Palace 5* and Stari Grad 3* in the Old Town.
Excursions: Mostar, Montenegro, wine tour of Peljesac,,,

For excursions look into Mostar and Korcula.

The Hilton and Excelsior are very %26quot;adult%26quot; hotels and there shouldn%26#39;t be a problem with children. The Argentina probably also falls into the catagory, but I%26#39;m just not that familiar with it.
Does your wife also like really good wine? If so, a wine tour to the Peljesac peninsula is a great day trip and can be combined with a stop in Ston for the best seafood in Croatia.

Hi,
Maybe you can thing about private accommodation which is cheeper than hotels.
We can recomend to you Apartment and Room Lukre, near old town, 2 minutes walking distance from Old town. It offers private tours with the car and boat. Visit web site to find more information.

Also read rewievs at Tripadvisor about this accommodation (great comments).

Just returned from DBV-fabulous place! We loved our private accommodations inside Old City walls at 1 Peline. Two apts in house--a 2 BR 2nd fl., 1 BR 1st fl. Well equipped, clean, modern (since this pre 1667 house was shelled in the 91-92 war). I believe the cost is 90E and 70E-a bargain inside walls. Ana and Zonko Kovac.Fd it on homeaway.com prop.#424030. Owners email is Zvonko.kovac@du.t-com.hr Good thing you are young! The steep stairways everywhere are challenging for us older folks.
Only negative re: trip is weak dollar making great wine and other things quite expensive. Eat at Taj Mahal, Nishta and Kaamenice. Best island trip is Korcula (we sailed for a wk, visiting 5 islands).
DBV is a magical place. You%26#39;ll love it.
