clothes what to pack

what is the weather like in dubrovnik at the moment, is it the same as uk or slightly hotter as im not sure what clothes to pack, any advice.

we were there last week and it was much hotter than UK, 25 to 29 C. Dubrovnik always felt a bit hotter coz of the crowds etc (we were in Cavtat). Daytime we needed shorts/t shirts. Night time long trousers and sometimes a thin extra layer, jumper/cardigan. We were never cold and we had some rain and thunderstorms.

thank you thats great, we are staying in lapad and hope to visit cavtat, what is it like there any reccomendations of restaurats and things to do etc, we will also go to dubrovnik town. is it expensive to eat out, sorry loads of questions but i want to get the best out of my hols,

It%26#39;s definitely hotter than the UK but gets dark at about the same time so it does cool down in the evenings. Sea is still great to swim in. Dubrovnik is the most expensive place on the Dalmatian coast that I have been to, but it is certainly cheaper to eat out there than in anywhere using the Euro.

It has been quite warm in Dubrovnik recently and hopefully the warm weather will remiain for your trip. Dubrovnik is fairly expensive for dining out and actually much more expensive than Italy or France (for an average restaurant). You can expect to pay about 8 to 10 Euro for a starter and 18 to 20 Euro for a main course at most restaurants. A cheaper option is pizza, which is about 5 to 7 Euro for an individual pizza.

you really should see Cavtat it is beautiful, so much more laid back and relaxed than dubrovnik. Cheapest way there was the bus (no 10) at 12 Kuna (about £1.25!) or take a taxi boat from the old town harbour for 50 Kuna £6 (80 kuna return). so not expensive. We ate in our hotel (half board) so can%26#39;t recommend a restaurant but they all looked very nice ! It wasn%26#39;t expensive for beer/wine etc either as it was slightly cheaper than uk prices. We found a little pizza place in dubrovnik selling huge slices of pizza at 10 kuna, great value. Have a great time and enjoy Croatia - we did !

Hi there,

We got back from Cavtat 2 weeks ago, and I posted a review on the Cavtat page on Trip Advisor:

Hope that this helps - a couple of restaurant recommendations which will not disappoint !!!

Cheers.

Hi, we stayed in Babin Kuk which is just beside Lapad during the first week in September. I%26#39;m afraid the food leaves a lot to be desired if you don%26#39;t like pasta or pizza! The food is not great but Arsenal in the old town do fantastic steaks. The pizzas are generally good, and Gils in the Old Town - food gorgeous but not much of it and very very expensive - about 3 times dearer than everywhere else. Nighttime you defo needed a cardi or jacket as the wind was unbelievable. But its an amazing place so I%26#39;m sure you wil enjoy it.
