eating out in Cavtat & Apartments Carol

Hi we are first timers travelling to Cavat (hopefully!) - hoping for some information about eating out in Cavtat. Can anyone let me know average prices and types of food available?

We are thinking of booking an apartment at %26#39;Apartments Carol%26#39; has anyone been and have they any feedback?

Hi there,I can%26#39;t give you any info on the Carol apartments but just be aware most of the apartments are on a steep hill up from the town centre.The plus side is most have lovely views overlooking the sea.Food is what you%26#39;d expect in a resort,steak/pork/chicken/pizzas/pasta etc plus local dishes.Prices cheaper than the UK.I don%26#39;t know what you expect from Cavtat,if theres any questions,please reply.Its a nice relaxing resort but don%26#39;t go if your expecting %26quot;golden sands%26quot;.

We too, are hoping to visit Cavtat, and also, like you, it will be our first time. I have been looking at the apartment Carol and wondering whether or not to book it. Have you had anymore feedback about?

No, not been yet! We have booked to go in August for 2 weeks, though. We have not received any other feedback from anyone else.

We are going to Cavtat in Sept. It will be our first time to Croatia. I too also posted an enquiry re the apartments Carol as we were thinking of booking them. They sound nice, but in the end, we have booked another

apartment which is about 3 mins away from the sea. There are only 4 apartments + 2 rooms, so a smaller complex. What I would like to know is are the local people friendly and has anyone ever hired bikes to cycle around and see the sights and do any cycle rides.

While I have a good Knowledge of the Cavtat area I would not know the standard of the apartments. However, some are much nearer to the sea and Cavtat village. It appears to me that the apartments Carol are 700 mtrs from the sea, too far in the heat. On the other hand the apartments Kralz are very central and near the sea. Apartments Gagula are reasonably close to the sea and approx a very pleasant 25 minutes walk along the coast,on the flat, to the centre of Cavtat

Hi

In the end we booked the Villa Fontana. They are a small block of 4 apartments + 2 rooms. A swimming pool has just been completed and will be brand new this summer! The apartments are about a 3 min walk from the sea and a short walk into Cavtat. They are situated near to the Hotel Albatross, where you can get the water taxi into Dubrovnic. They sound really nice, so looking forwards to our first trip to Croatia.
