Vis or Hvar?

Hi,

We are planning our honeymoon next August in Croatia. We already have a week booked in Cavtat to explore Dubrovnik and area.

We are looking to spend another 5-7 days in Croatia and can%26#39;t decide on the many wonderful locations.

Any opinions on making Vis or Hvar a base for 3- 4 nights??

Thank you!!!

depends on what you are after...we LOVED VIS...the greatest rest. Villa Kaliopa was an incredible experience, since i am a chef..the staff, including the owners were dancing to the greatest music, food was so romantic, and the setting in the garden..we ate their almost every night. then we rented motor scooter and discovered the hidden beaches, tavernas, and wowo, just loved the island. don%26#39;t miss it.

check out this hidden gem. we arrived, hiking down the hill, to hear classical music. the owner came in on his dinghy, and we had a beer, a bit warm, but an out of body experience...

and don%26#39;t forget Istria...http://www.san-rocco.hr/ lets talk romantic...hill top towns, oh my

If it were me on my honeymoon I would go with Vis. I would rather be in a more quiet place and that would be Vis in my opinion. You are going to find beauty wherever you go in Croatia, but I would go for peaceful, beautiful and romantic and pick Vis.

Thanks to both of you for the vote - we have decided on Vis as suggested!!

We did consider Istria but decided to save it for another trip since we already planned to be in the Southern part of the country.

thanks again!!!

Good choice to opt for Vis. I suggest you stay in the Kut side of town as it is full of atmosphere. We stayed in the Hotel St Giorgio, which was perfect and we dined in the several really nice restaurants nearby, all within 100 mtrs.
